Foster The People were originally known as Foster And The People, but people often misheard the name as Foster The People so they changed their name. Thin Lizzy were originally known as Tin Lizzy. Eric Bell suggested that they changed their name to Thin Lizzy to play on the Irish accent’s way of dropping the ‘h’. They hoped the confusion would help promote the band.
